  1. Hey guys, thought I'd start a build thread more for myself to keep track of my progress with the car and post results of mods verified at the track with times, dyno sheets etc. On the weekend I picked up a 100% stock (down to the headunit) S15 Spec S Silvia. I had a few specifications for the car when looking and they was that it had to be Blue, stock or as close to as possible, non-sunroof and straight. The car I picked is a one owner Blue, Spec S, automatic, Australian delivered 2002 S15. It has 180,000kms, the interior is in very good condition, the engine seems in good condition and the exterior is in average/good condition. I paid $8000 for the car however it is in Perth and I am in Adelaide so the car is currently on a truck on it's way here. The flights to Perth were $500 and the truck to get it here was $400. I bought the car from a 65 year old lady who was the first owner in 2002 and bought it as a midlife crisis (her explaination). I don't have any great photos of it but I will upload some as soon as it gets here and try to keep the thread updated as I do things to the car or as the car goes to the track. My plan for the car is to run a basic setup and try to get as much time out at the track as possible, the car will be used for grip and not drift so progress should be easy to see in the form of track times at my local track, Mallala. For now, here are some photos I have of the car that I got sent before I flew to Perth to view it.
  2. s13 P Plate Build

Starting a little build on my s13. get my license back soon so getting her ready for then got it in pretty rough condition needed some love and care.. had a mate help give her a good clean and replace a few parts car is pretty much stock so a great base to start interior is all there has HUD display and s14 seats apart from that just needs a good tidy and some bits re trimmed body is pretty strait but my first thing on the list is a new paint job along with a body kit ordered a BN style kit made by TeamJetSpeed here are some pics of the car before i got started..

  4. 180sx // RB20

https://i.imgur.com/NYJwdk8.jpgGO TO LAST PAGE --> Current status - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Hey guys, so not too much about me but I've just turned 19, had my R32 Skyline gts-4 rb20det stolen two days after i moved in to a new house.. Still with family, need money for this!) What I always say is there's not much point in using the words 'could' 'should' 'would' or thinking about negatives so I decided to just move on as quickly as I can. I searched for weeks online scouring the QLD for registerable 180sx shells whilst keeping a keen eye for my r32 parts :\ I was selling a van, my brother got it for very cheap and gave it to me to sell out of compassion, will never forget that. In the ad i would take a 180sx shell with cash adjustment, this guy had no cash but offered me the shell, which was lucky he kept it off-market while I got the van sold (4ish weeks) Price of shell $1000 ono (UPDATE 15/4/20: The price was negotiated down to $600, and to date I've easily sold 400-500 of stuff, got another 200 to sell along with parts I will be keeping to use like the one piece drive shaft, r200, half shafts, etc) Sold van $3,500, Bought my brothers Honda Civic EK1 - $2000 Registered (perfect for a daily, fuel, weight, fwd safety in rain, etc) Oh and the best part is he left his stereo in there as he has loads of gear, it's only a 300w amp with 2x 10inch subs but it vibrates the glass, your bones and hair on your body at 90% volume Also if my context of time is a bit confusing in this first post it's because I just started this thread after it all happened about 1 month ago, so I will post "progress" in one or two posts after this then time will be live So I finally dragged my brother and my dad along on the two hour drive, and seen the silhouette of the 180 in the driveway as we arrived, I could feel them internally cringing, smashed windscreen, no driver door or quarter glass, grim reaper bonnet hahaha, and etc. Pretty much looked like this bonnet First thing I did was gurney it off, something retarded happened and I musta slipped my right hand being wet or something and the gun pointed at my left hand tearing off 1/2" squared of skin, stung for whole night and day after baha, next best to the old knuckle bash. Here she is at the yard (Location god damn disclosed, no info for potential thiefs -.-) with all that stripped interior taken out and organised. Was as absolute bitch to get on and especially off the trailer as it was 'rolling' without coilovers, uprights wired to the strut tops and sitting on stockies. Like sitting, the wheel arches onto the tyres haha, very hard to roll even with the low weight Came with some goodies, 2L surge tank I am painting at the very moment so pics in next post, with 044 External Bosch, and apparently a 040 in the tank which I will found out soonish. Came with sard FPR, some good looking stereo gear, Bunch of thick gauge wire inc. power, few rca cables, extra relays for thermo and pump etc, all stock relay boxes/fuses and some kind of loom. This weird Boost controller thing? Seems to be a solenoid but no wires? Couldn't be a tee as no adjustment? If anyone knows lemme know Pignose/CA Front bar with lip (Genuine and came on car) The only front bumper I lovee! Here's all the interior, selling the green keeping red UPDATE: Sold most of it, got boot trims on reserve for a guy to trade for sunroof and RH door which I need My first steps are the get the car stripped so I can prep the shell, have got the crossmember off and jesus it's heavy to shift on your own. Guess the car's weight has to come from somewhere. 1 foot of progress ~ 3 mins 3 metres of progress ~ 25 mins and pooped out Finally in haha, you can probably see in the last photo I was going for the shipping container (my uncles but he lets me use back section) where my parts are but gave up and put into the demountable until I can get a hand or strip it down.
  5. Hey I have a s14 with gt30 turbo I ended up blowing the engine and the turbo lag was really not worth the 2 second boost it gave so I got a s15 engine and gearbox fitted very high compression excellent crisp engine (I now know 6 speed is weak) with a t25 turbo. So I lent the car to my brother while I use my skyline lol(bad idea) now it doesn't go as good or crisp as it use too but it's only been 2 months it feels like it has boost leak the turbo spools and a little power kicks in then it puds I checked 2 of the coil pack bolts are snapped and when you go around corners it puds a little the engine still feels like in good shape just something seems very wrong around it. So I've decided to garage it and drive the skyline while get it fixed I'm thinking about putting a gt2871r turbo with 750cc injectors and a bosch fuel pump and z32 maf and take it to a mechanic to do alll the work and dyne tune it. I want at least over 320 hp on stock engine and internals. Note it's got race radiator and big intercooler. Or is there a cheaper setup with more hp for my money. Oh and if I'm buying the gt2871r turbo should I get the t25 or t28 and what would be the difrence and when would it spool up through the rpms with stock cams 3 inch exhaust and down pipe. Thanks I'll post some photos later today

  8. Hi everybody My Name is Dane, I've been on ns for a bit over a year now, not a real heavy poster but I'm on here everyday and thought it was about time I put a build up of my 180sx So I brought this car begining of december, main reason I got it is because I wanted to get into the sport of drifting and didn't want to drift a 20k+ S15(my next car I will buy). Picked it up for what I think was a pretty reasonble price, body is in good nick, interior is excellent for a 180 & a few mods that I'm quite happy with. Engine mods when I got her: GT2871R(or so I was lead to beleive). Stainless stell manifold. 3inch zorst. FMIC. Apexi CIA kit. Carbon look air box. Aftermarket radiator (can't remember brand atm..). Custom oil catch can. Oil cooler and relocation kit. DOSE. 740cc injectors(so I was told). Denso pump. Profec B EBC. Fuel pressure reg. braided turbo and brake lines. Greddy diversion plate. Lightened pullys. Turbo timer. Fan temp controller. plus a couple other goodies I probably missed.. Engine mods I've done so far: Installed turbo smart dual port. Tune at Tuff Tune performance Wyong, very happy with result, power went from 188kw-218kw Engine future plans/ideas: GT3071r or precision equivalent. 850cc injectors. Rocker arm stoppers (sitting in my bedroom, have just been to lazy to install). Step 2 cams with springs etc.. Custom fuel setup, if I get serious i guess.. Retune with above. Suspension/Driveline Cusco coilovers. Front & rear strut braces. Torque dampener. 16X8 mismatched wheels, look decent though, old volks? Future plans/ideas: 17X9 +12 rims, got delivered today Camber arms. 2way LSD, Kazz possibly. ??? Exterior: Not a huge fan of the front bar so am thinking a vertex or possibly type X bar and vertex/dmax/Origin side skirts + rear bar. Has an ugly looking cannon on it so I am considering some drift pipes/flutes what ever you want to call them lol. Interior: The interior is pretty neat and untouched minus two gauges that came with car which is a A/F Ratio& oil pressure. Plus a couple more gauges I added myself, a boost and volt gauge. Future plans for interior: Bride/recaro seats, just something that holds a bit better than the stock seats. Cage later down the track. may remove sound ded eventually aswell.. Some pictures? sneaky sneaky My girlfriend putting my exhaust wrap on Will be updating this as I go along with the build, thanks for reading!

I got the car about 18 months ago, bought it off ebay ^.^ he looked heaps different when I first got it (actually tidy minus the fitment disaster wheels). Anywho just to bring this thread up to speed is a few things Ive done since owning it. A few pics below of what Ive done, will try keep it brief. This is what it looked like when I first got it... Not styled to my liking but got it for a great price and it was what I was after (s13/180). First thing I did was pull the decals off the side. Got hold of a set of drifteks (Black, multistud 17x9.5 +18 front & rear, wrapped in federal 595s 235/45/17s) and threw on various stickers for the track to keep CAMs happy. Entered my first drift practise day (Dec 09') and came away with a rubber water hose at the rear of the engine being cut through by those terribad worm drive hose clamps and a touch up on the front passenger side headlight after smacking into the tyre wall at the bottom of the S's at the track. Other than than no majors and car ran well I entered last years state drift series purely for the fact to get as much track time as I can to improve myself. Practise practise practise! To get the car re-rego'd (as bought the car from another state) I had to pull off the kit and put the 18s back on the car and raise it up, all the boring things no one wants to do to their car. So it all came off and I got hold of standard rear bar and a ca front bar, chucked them on and sprayed them in primer, looks pretty ratty but better than bright red/maroon imo. Used 400grit sandpaper and primer in a prssure pack XD loves it. I have since relowered the car and ran some drift days with the drifteks on it, I had to put a 5mm spacer on the front as the wheels kept smashing into the coilover on hard lock at the track, they also munched into my main wiring loom running along the driver side, which when it did it I was on the track and the headlights kept popping up when I entered a corner lol and the horn earthed out and I had to drive the rest of the way around the track an in the pits with the horn going off, kinda embarrassing As you can see from the last pic the loom now sits on the lip/seam rather than under it, completely removing any possibility of some tyre on wire action. Ran out of time for a bash plate so the last track day (few weeks back) I did terrible all day with a combination of shitting myself about smashing my new sump on the ripple strip (which sits a good deal lower than the stock one) and poor quality tyres spinning me off the track, wasnt a good day in regards as far as progression was concerned. Also in one of my battles my brakes line split and put the car out of more battles :/ From the day though I have taken a new found appreciation for good quality tires, the combination of power, speed and bad tires has been learnt. Here is a few pics I have seen of me on track, the car atm is in dire need of presentation, especially considering how many of the other cars down here have really stepped it up on vehicle presentation, the turbo shat itself a few weeks back so hence buying the gt2871rs so the new s14 front was put on hold for a bit. Hopefully guards will be ordered soon.
