favourite/most memorable gigs

Recommended Posts

i'm a little uncertain of most of the dates as i can't be arsed digging through ticket stubs to check

Primus 2001

Fantomas/Tomahawk/The Melvins in Adelaide;

Soulfly in Adelaide 2002 (perhaps).

Tool 2001 Melbourne - just after lateralus came out and they only played Melb & Syd to promote it. also saw them when they came back 8mths later for an Aus-wide tour

Mudvayne (Bris 2005) - road trip from Canberra as Syd & Melb were sold out

Lamb of God (Melb 2006) - f**king brilliant

worst gig;

Cog & Butterfly Effect 2004 Adelaide. acoustics were shit, mixing was shit, Clint from Buttf**kers Effect was a complete poser, as bad as that John Toogood wanker from Shihad. dude from Cog tried to talk to the crowd as if he was some dark & distant weirdo 'do you........ever wonder where you go after you die'

so glad i didn't pay for the ticket

DAMN!!!

so annoyed still!

missed out on tool when they were here!!!!

The living end 2003 ANU BAr

was 2nd row in fornt of speakers, going nuts in mosh that was fun.

Metallica 2005 or whenever that was, LOUD and full of energy, no one sitting, lost voice by end of night.

G3 concert 2006 guitar brilliance

U2 2006, i only say u2 just coz of the sheer size of the whole thing, so many people and the ambience there was amazing, i not a huge fan of there music but i went just to say i saw them.

there the 4 best ones that have stood out.

Nine Inch Nails - BDO (ages ago 2000 i think?)

Korn - BDO

Rammstein - BDO

Marilyn Manson - BDO

Metallica - BDO

Prodigy - BDO

Chemical Brothers - BDO

Carl Cox

Aphex Twin - BDO

Grinspoon - Dogbite and BDO (1998 maybe..was to long ago)

Testeagles - back in the day

Limp Bizkit - BDO ( i have to say they f**king went off!)

The Crystal Method

Blink 182 - Hordern Pavillion (2004)

Sonic Animation - (2001) Newcastle Uni (when they were still good)

and the many Internationl DJ's that frequent Sublime in Sydney.

As you might tell Im a BDO junkie. Went every year for 5 years in a row.

Ive kinda stopped the live music/BDO thing as nothing these days will compare to the above, they need to bring this stuff back!!!

Pretty sure the last time Primus toured was 2000.

One of the guys I was at school with came up to me and asked me if I'd ever heard I've a band called "Primus" and if they where any good, turned out he had tickets to go see them and had never heard off them. I was pretty pissed off that the show was sold out and people who didn't even know who the band was were going and was going to be sitting at home.

Been waiting for them to come back ever since.

Went to see Tool on that tour, but the full tour they did after that was of the best shows I've ever seen. They opened with Flood off Undertow, the build up/intro at the start went for about 20 minutes, by the time the bass line kicked in the atmosphere in there was insane.

I haven't been to many gigs (i'm a poor student with a money hungry car), but the best would have to be tool at this year's BDO.

I saw the testeagles at a previous BDO (2005 i think?) and they went off, and got the crowd going harder than any of the other bands there.

I've seen grinspoon a few times and they've always put on an awesome show

I was there as well, but I didn't like cog that much. they played well... but that's all they did, unlike grinspoon who put on more of a show.

quite easily. once their fanbase of misguided white highschool kids grew up, the band had to start making shit music like 'Got The Life' to continue to make money.
